Currently Accepting New Clients

Welcome

Life is filled with change and challenges, and sometimes we find ourselves not having the skills, knowledge, resources, support, or “neurology” to manage these stressors. I believe that counseling can help people identify the roadblocks which prevent them from feeling competent, hopeful, and positive. I view each person who chooses to work with me as unique and capable, and together we build a relationship where humor, trust, and compassion facilitates the work we do together. Together we work towards removing or reducing the roadblocks to help you reach your personal goals. It’s not always easy, but it is a journey that is often life changing. I feel honored to go on the journey with you.

I am a Massachusetts licensed mental health counselor, who has worked in the field of special education for over 17 years and as a mental health counselor for 12 years. I specialize in supporting children ages 10 through Adults/Seniors with an Autism Spectrum diagnosis (or suspected diagnosis), Social Communication Challenges, Non Verbal Learning Disorder and other issues relating to social and relationship challenges, learning challenges such as Language Based Learning Challenges and ADHD, and the often accompanying Anxiety, Depression, low self-esteem, and sleep disturbances.

However, not all of my clients have learning or social challenges. Many of my clients seek help with generalized and social anxiety, trauma, grief, emotion management, and life transitions.

I use a creative and integrative therapeutic approach, utilizing concepts of cognitive behavioral therapy, strength based counseling, and mindfulness based stress reduction that is person centered, sometimes solution focused and always trauma informed. My methodology is tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. When typical talk therapy is not useful, I employ strategies of play therapy, art therapy, Social Thinking, coaching, psycho-educational techniques, and direct instruction.

My personal interests involve anything to do with the arts, music, theater, dance, and visual. I enjoy going to performances, visiting museums and just being creative. I also like cats, dogs and funny YouTube videos.
